Resty joined the Yamba Hearts Women Football Club just to get out of the house. She didn’t expect it to change her life.
At first, she was quiet—shy around the other girls and hesitant to speak up. But with weekly training sessions, leadership talks, and team bonding, Resty began to grow into herself.
She now captains the team and leads school visits where she talks to younger girls about staying in school and standing up for themselves.
“Football gave me confidence,” she says. “I found my voice on the pitch. Now I use it in my community.”
What started as a game became a platform for leadership, health, and advocacy.
